Angela is a fifth-year student majoring in Microbiology and Immunology, with career interests in the consulting / pharmaceutical industry to integrate Management with her background in Science. Fueled by her passion for youth empowerment, Angela yearns to continually give back to her community. Serving her second year as President, Angela strives to fortify the foundation laid in the first year and improve the quality and diversity of B+MMSA's services. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her younger siblings and experimenting with cooking!
eXECUTIVE vICE PRESIDENT
Sofia is a fourth-year Food Science major in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. She entered the B+MM program to maximize her leadership skills and expand her knowledge in business management, while utilizing her passion for food, science and service of others. As our Executive Vice President, her dedicated vision for the B+MM Student Association is to make it a more interconnected organization: a tight-knit community of ambitious and driven students who pursue their passions and develop their business potentials. Sofia is committed to improving the B+MM program by effectively creating successful students. In her spare time, she loves to keep active, spend time with family and friends, and of course, cook!
Reed is a second-year student in the Bachelor of Media Studies program interested in film and television production. His passion for media and storytelling have brought him to Vancouver and UBC to pursue a career in the industry. He hopes to take that passion for media and communication into his role as VP Marketing for the B+MMSA. He was previously a Media Assistant for the association and continues to be a dedicated member of the executive team. Outside of school, Reed creates his own film, art and photography projects as well as playing music and enjoying a run in Vancouver’s beautiful trails.
Rachel is a fifth-year student in the Faculty of Science in the combined major in the science program (life sciences, chemistry, earth and ocean sciences). Her interests within the sciences include organic chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, drug research and development and climate change. Outside of school, Rachel enjoys weightlifting and participating in team sports including soccer and softball, as well as exploring our beautiful west coast. She used to play drums, paint and draw and hopes to engage in these activities over the summer. Rachel is extremely excited to work with the new executive team to plan and execute events, while ensuring the financial integrity of the association.
Shalini is a third-year Cognitive Systems student and will be serving as the VP Internal at BMMSA for the upcoming year. Her hope is to expand the association even further and create an open, inclusive community for all B +MM students. In her free time, you can find Shalini at Wreck Beach or a local cafe enjoying the finest americanos Vancouver has to offer.
Jessie is a third-year student majoring in Psychology. She is excited to be joining the B+MMSA this year as VP Events. Jessie has a few years of experience planning and running events for her city during the summers. Her main goal is to build a better sense of community within the program through social and professional events. Outside of the association Jessie is passionate about music, and she spends her time writing and recording songs.
Tiffany is a second-year student in the Faculty of Arts. She has not declared her major yet but is considering Anthropology and International Relations. She is excited to be part of B+MMSA this coming year and hopes to create more events for the benefit of the community. Tiffany loves travelling and learning about different cultures. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and trying new foods.
Special Programs Coordinator
Tom is a fifth-year student finishing a Combined Major in Mathematics and Computer Science. Interested in artificial intelligence, he is researching machine learning and AI’s potential in a wide range of fields, from FinTech to virtual reality. As well, Tom is part of the Vancouver Startup Week committee, assisting their events team. While not on campus Tom can usually be found up in Whistler, either on the slopes or on the golf course, having spent a year working there before starting at UBC.
Tom is a fifth-year Interdisciplinary Arts student studying urban design. His passion for cities has led him to various projects both locally and abroad. He will be one of two P2P Coordinators this year and hopes to bring his experiences in collaborative event planning to the B+MMSA.
Elizabeth is a second-year Science student pursuing a major in Biology. She strives to express herself in everything she does and is constantly looking for new ways to improve and learn. She is excited to be involved in the B+MM Student Association this year and learn more about event planning and conducting herself professionally. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys hiking and playing her musical instruments.

PEER CONNECTIONS COORDINATOR
Michael is a third-year Psychology major in the Faculty of Arts. As the 2017/2018 Peer Connections Coordinator, Michael hopes to expand the program to engage with more students and provide them with the support they need. Outside of the classroom, Michael enjoys playing ice hockey and volunteering with the Vancouver Marathon Society.
